Just Beachy

Top, Pants: Target (similar top here, love the bow in the back)

Necklace: Nordstrom

Sunglasses: Celine

Hat: Forever21 (new colors here)

Just beachy over here! Get it? It’s a pun on ‘just peachy’ ;). So we went to Santa Barbara last month for a family vacation and got to stay at a beach house. We ate, drank and explored!

For our little getaway I lived in bohemian looking tops, denim pants and pretty summer dresses. It wasn’t quite warm enough to be in a bikini at the beach while we were there (hence this outfit) but of course I put my feet in the water and we did get to see dolphins and a whale from this exact spot which was very exciting!!

Also, how good have Target’s summer dresses been? I just can’t get enough and need to order this yellow prettiness ASAP!

Sunny Side

Top: Forever 21 (similar here)

Necklace: J.Crew (love this one too)

Sunglasses: Celine (similar here)

Jeans: Target

Sandals: Minnetonka

Happy Monday! Just got back from Vegas for one of my best friend’s Bachelorette party and it was too much fun!! Will do a post on that soon :). But for today I’m sharing this look.

Really into this yellow floral print off the shoulder top. Paired with a pretty statement necklace it can be casual or dressed up a bit and bonus it’s perfect for summer.

I wore this outfit to work the other day so opted to keep it casual with cropped denim and fringe sandals.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Food truck with my name ;). Actually called “Casera” but did a little editing magic.

“The Lonely Island” in person

Pretty blooms, that color though.

San Fran friends + this view

Our new house definitely needs this artwork!

Summer Dressing is in full effect (Dress: Target, Necklace: J.Crew).

Happy Friday my friends! This week was jam packed with lots of work and some fun :). Highlights are included in photo form above.

The weather has been hot, hot, hot (almost 100 degrees here today) so I’ve been living in flowy dresses all week long.

A highlight of this week was going to San Francisco and seeing “The Lonely Island” give a talk to promote their new movie “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.” I loovveee Andy Samberg so to see him in person was awesome! If you don’t watch Brooklyn Nine Nine I highly recommend watching.

Also, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone (the other 2 guys) are hilarious on their own and their trio dynamic is so funny! I was lol-ing throughout their hour talk. They’re very down to earth and genuine which makes me like them even more :).

This weekend is the first weekend in months, literally months, where we don’t have any concrete plans which I’m really looking forward to. Of course we still have things lined up and errands to run but I’m excited to let it all happen organically and try to relax for a bit.

Wishing each of you a wonderful productive weekend filled with fun and relaxation!

xoxo “Woohoo it’s the weekend!” Sera 🙂

Mural Matching

Dress, Sandals: Target (I like this dress too!)

Hat, Bag: Forever 21

Sunglasses: Celine

Hello friends! It has been a while, work/life has been crazy busy for me…but what’s new :)? How are you lovely people doing?! Hope you’re all having a wonderful week so far!

We went to San Francisco a few weeks ago for a good friend’s birthday lunch and as we were walking to the restaurant I noticed this cool mural that just so happened to match my outfit perfectly…not planned at all!

I don’t think I could have planned it any better even if I had known. Currently loving these gladiator lace-up sandals that are a steal from Target (I also bought them in orange)!

The Sweetest Thing

Dress: Target

Necklace: Nadri

Sunglasses: Celine (similar here)

Sandals: Tory Burch

Happy Friday Chic Readers!!! Woot woot! Hope you all have some fun plans and will be able to relax a bit!

Picked up this sweet looking dress from Target two weeks ago but I can’t find it online…it is recent though.

I’m a sucker for stripes and the lace detail on top is so pretty and feminine. Also, the neckline is great because it dips a bit but can still be appropriate for work. So a work and play dress #outfitdoubletasking 😉

Currently loving this necklace by Nadri (it also comes in silver, super pretty as well) which can be found at Nordy’s. One of my best friends got it for me for my birthday and I’m obsessed with it!!! I wear it almost every day as it’s delicate, chic and goes with everything.

Have a wonderful weekend lovies!

Oscar de la Renta

Gowns, gowns, gowns!!! Can you tell I’m super excited about what I’m sharing with you tonight?!

Two weekends ago I was lucky enough to see the “Oscar de la Renta: The Retrospective” exhibit at the de Young Museum in San Francisco. If you’re in the Bay Area and enjoy fashion GO! It’ll be there until May 30th, 2016 and has been very popular so get your tickets now…you won’t regret it ;)!

Oscar de la Renta was truly a class act. I believe that showed through his designs and the clothes he made. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in his garments are impeccable.

I’m a huge fan of his gowns as they’re very classic, ultra feminine, chic, glamorous and all around stunning! From gilded feathers, to bejeweled bodices, cotton candy tulle and embroidered embellishments his clothes are all encompassing of glam. He was a savvy business man, seemed intelligent and kind. “Be the designer of your own destiny…” was a quote of his. He was extremely talented and understood women which made him uber successful.

When I worked in couture sales our Oscar de la Renta trunk show days were like Christmas as I would get to try on several exclusive and insanely pretty gowns. Each and every single dress, and especially the gowns, that he made are amazing…legitimately so beautiful!!!

The exhibit showcases outfits and gowns that have been worn by: Rihanna, Hilary Clinton, Diana Vreeland, Penelope Cruz, Barbara Bush, Karlie Kloss, Jessica Chastain, Nicki Minaj, Amy Adams and a slew of socialites and royalty. My favorite part of this exhibit was seeing all the iconic gowns from last year’s Met Gala (aka Ball) that Oscar designed.

In 2015 at the Met Ball Sarah Jessica Parker wore the amazing black and white window-pane gown complete with Oscar’s signature in red on the bottom…so swoon worthy no?! Also, the pale pink satin gown designed to perfection with a huge bow under the low dipping back that Taylor Swift was so lucky to wear is phenomenal and made her look like a modern day Marilyn Monroe. Can I have that dress?! Scratch that I don’t even need to own it, I just want to try it on and take a few photos in it ;).

His pieces are elegant and timeless and to make me like him even more I learned that he opened up an orphanage in his home country, the Dominican Republic, adopted a son from that same orphanage and seemed to be someone that most people who knew him really respected and loved, which isn’t always the case in the fashion world.

I’ll finish up this essay post with one of the best fashion quotes around was said by Mr. de la Renta: “I am not interested in shock tactics. I just want to make beautiful clothes.”

That you did Oscar, that you did.

xoxo “Cheers to you Oscar, one of the best designers in the history of fashion” Sera 🙂

Spring Spring

Top: Forever 21

Necklace, Cardigan: J.Crew (similar here)

Pants: Santa Barbara boutique

Sandals: Tory Burch (love these!)

I finally got to bust out my white pants yesterday as temperatures hit 90 degrees!! It was warm and legitimately felt like summer here. I found these white denim pants at a small boutique in downtown Santa Barbara years ago with my best friends while on a girls trip during our college days. They are stretchy and oh so comfy!

White is great in the summer to deflect the sun and keep you cool. Plus, it just looks fresh and clean…probably why so many people favor it in the warmer weather months. I couldn’t resist pairing these white skinnies with a pretty pink and blue floral top and nude sandals. Totally had a spring in my step! Aha get it?!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far :)!
