Hi Chic Readers! Happy last day of 2017…can you believe tonight is New Year’s Eve?!
K and I having a dinner date tonight! We’re trying a new sushi place by our house so I’m hoping it’s good (fingers crossed, it has great Yelp reviews!). Afterwards we’ll be heading to a friend’s party for champagne, treats, time w/our friends and ringing in 2018!
It’s actually a pajama NYE party, which I’m super into! What’s better than being super comfy and cozy to welcome 2018???
In past years we’ve gone to clubs and out to parties in various cities (San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego), but I’ve always been more of a homebody for NYE…I prefer to either be at my own house or a good friend’s/family’s house and have a fun yet mellow night, always with champagne aplenty ;). That’s my ideal NYE!
Today I’m sharing my favorite new-ish dress with you. I ordered this pretty black and gold metallic star & moon dress for this holiday season and absolutely love it. Some glitz and glam is always chic!
I wore it with black tights to my work holiday party a few weeks ago and it was a big hit! My favorite detail, other than the print (obviously!), is the sheer long sleeves.
That one detail makes it great for work functions as it’s appropriate (I’m not one to show ‘all you’ve got’ at work parties), but it’s also great for any other parties/events you may have as well!
If you want to show some skin you can wear without tights. I chose to wear with tights to the party as it was a cold night and I didn’t want to deal with cold legs all night, but the next time I wear this dress it’ll be sans tights ;).
And to end my last post of 2017 here are some thoughts…
Things we need more of in 2018:
*ACCEPTANCE of all humans (regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation)
*Acts of kindness (random & not so random)
*PROTECTING & RESPECTING Mother Nature and this beautiful Earth we’re so lucky to call “home”
Things we can kick to the curb in 2018 (and should have been long gone already IMO…):
-Senseless acts of violence
-Jean shorts that are so short one’s butt cheeks show/hang out (literally my least favorite thing to ever become a trend)
-Interruptions when talking
Thank you for following along!! Wishing each of you a very happy, healthy, adventure-filled, fun & prosperous 2018 filled with lots of love and laughs!!! Cheers to you and cheers to light and love in the New Year!
xoxo “Here’s to 2018!” Sera 🙂
