Top, Skirt: J.Crew
Necklaces: Cocktail Bling, Turkey
Sandals: Steve Madden (also come in black!)
Hi all! Happy Thursday, woot woot it’s almost Friday/the weekend :)! I just got this cute ruffle cami from J.Crew over the weekend and wore it today for the 1st time. I LOVE it! It’s super comfy, chic and comes in a variety of colors (black, white, olive and a neutral-y blue).
I went with the “smoky” coral and got a size 6. It’s great to tuck into skirts (a la my outfit today as seen above) or wear loose over with denim/pants.
Also, one of my dear friends (my “little” from Chi O sorority days!) got engaged last weekend and we were invited to celebrate with the newly engaged couple in a surprise celebration at Half Moon Bay, complete with bubbly and delicious treats post-proposal! So happy for you both Kathleen and Elton!!!! Let the wedding planning begin ;)!
Random photo included in this post and blurb here is that I ate a delicious chocolate tart today at work with edible gold foil!! Isn’t it so pretty?! That’s how you know something is very trendy and potentially here to stay for a while (?)…we’ll see but hooray for gold/gold foil everything!
Ok in non-fashion and non-happy news here are some real thoughts I’m currently having:
My heart is heavy for my country and the world. America will always be my country, but there is no room for hate nor racism here. PERIOD. DONE. I cannot believe that this happened (these white supremacists in this video are filled with so much hate, I will never understand this) and still is happening in the USA. It’s literally INSANE. It makes me sick to my stomach. An American woman was MURDERED by an American man and our President said nothing to condemn Nazis, NAZIS. Let that sink in, if it hasn’t already…
In these dark times we must speak up and take peaceful action. We need love and unity, not hate and violence. BUT, we also cannot let this hatred and violence seem or become “normal” and we definitely cannot go backwards in history. If you are not speaking up or taking action, please do so in some sort of capacity. This affects all of us, so even if you’re white and think “this isn’t actually affecting me” please think again, as it definitely does.
I know that a majority of people/humans are good and I believe that evil will not prevail. I hope and pray for a peaceful world & country and for senseless violence to stop. This quote by Nelson Mandela, tweeted by Barack Obama, after this past weekend’s events gives me hope:
“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion … People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love … For love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
xoxo “LOVE is the answer. There is no place for hate, racism & senseless violence in the World” Sera
