Crop Top

Top: Zara/ Skirt: Leith/ Shoes: Zara/ Sunglasses: Prada/ Headband: Nordstrom/ Rings: Tiffany & Co./ Lips: MAC

I find it kind of comical that this is my very first “crop top!” In the 80’s & 90’s crop tops were all the rage, super trendy and a great excuse to show off your body/killer abs. Plus, especially sexy when paired with mom-esque jeans. Need a visual reminder? Think of Kelly Kapowski from Saved From the Bell! Google that name. Did you do it? Ok great now you’ll totally understand what I’m talking about! Yet, I was never into the look. I always had my mid-drift covered because crop tops just weren’t my style and my father probably wouldn’t have let me out of the house! When I saw this little printed crop top at Zara though I had a fashion vision for it….I would make this crop top classier by wearing it with a high-waisted skirt! This fashion forward coupling of crop top + high waisted skirt = amazing!!! If this had been fashionable, and pretty high waisted skirts available, when I was younger I would have been all over it! By pairing this smaller than usual top with a high waisted skirt (or pants) only a little bit of skin peeks out, almost like a cutout top which I’ve always had an affinity for. So there you go my Chic Readers, if you’re looking to make a cropped top chic and stylish pair it with high waisted pants or a high waisted skirt. Now go out and try it! You’re welcome 🙂
