Greetings Chic Readers! I hope everything is going great for each and every one of you and apologize for being MIA this past week. I was lucky enough to take a lovely vacation to New York City and had the best time!!! The weather was perfect: exceptionally warm for this time of year during our first few days and then just as we were leaving the temperature started to drop and it really felt like fall, with a brisk chill in the air! If you are looking to travel to NYC I highly recommend the month of October!

Although it plays a large part of good/bad travel experiences, enough about the weather I want to tell you more about the rest of my trip! Currently, several of my best friends and my amazing sister (who has a beautiful blog Sparkle In Your Step) and brother-in-law reside in NYC so it makes visiting that much more fun because I got to have a lot of wonderful family time and catch up with all of my great friends! It was also a really special trip because my travel partner in crime was my fabulous mom and thus we dubbed this NY trip our “Girls Trip!” We had the best time having new experiences and adventures in the Big Apple from walking the High Line, to seeing amazing art at the MOMA, eating our way through Chelsea Market (which I’m completely obsessed with), walking the Brooklyn Bridge, taking a food tour of Greenwich Village and finally shopping at Bergdorf Goodman!!!! Bergdorfs is phenomenal!!! End of story! I think I’ll literally have to do a separate post talking about how much I love it. Needless to say we covered a lot of city ground, saw fabulous friends & family and had a really phenomenal trip 🙂

But now back to this current post! I don’t know about you but when I travel I want to be comfortable yet still look chic. To be comfortable one does not need to sacrifice being fashionable. My go-to travel pieces are often dresses (no surprise here) specifically maxi dresses, leggings with a longer shirt or tunic over them, and some sort of jacket or comfy blanket-esque coat sweater that I can wrap myself up in. On my way home from NY I wore the look seen above. I like a bit of edginess and a pair of comfy black leggings, a ridiculously soft and roomy Wildfox t-shirt, a versatile leather jacket, a pair of amazingly comfortable motorcycle boots (the trick is that these specific ones have Nike Air in them and kept my feet happy while walking a ton in the city) and finally a black and silver pyramid studded over sized bag completed my traveling attire for this trip! Cool, Comfortable and Chic…the best 3 C’s for travel (and fashion) 😉
