Dress: Urban Outfitters/ Blazer: Silence + Noise/ Necklace & Bracelet: Ann Taylor Loft/ Shoes: Sam Edelman/ Lips: Bobbi Brown

I love this dress because it looks like a skirt and top that I expertly paired, but in fact it’s a dress! When I wear a blazer over it numerous ladies always inquire if it’s two separate pieces and always want to know where I got it (Urban Outfitters over 3 years ago!). I think women respond to the style because it has a little bit of a retro vibe yet still looks modern and classic all at once! This look was inspired by my love for nautical. I paired this dress with chunky gold jewelry and gold metallic wedges to give it some pizzazz and then added a dark navy blazer to give it a nautical finish. The accordion pleats are flattering because the dress is silk and super light weight and the color, this golden citron, is very rich in person. It’s definitely a color that my wardrobe lacks because a yellow green is not always flattering. The slightest color variation of a little more green than yellow or vice versa can make or break citron on certain skin tones. But when you do find the right shade it can feel like a big fashion victory!
